Wedding planning can be very stressful for any bride to be. The one thing you don’t have worry about is your hen party – this is a job for your amazing bridesmaids. So to help them out, we’ve rounded up 7 of our favourite hen party ideas you’ll love.
1. Theme and Dress Code
The best hen parties go beyond just gifts and good company. A great party speaks to the bride to be’s personality through a theme and dress code. Now this may not always be easy, but here are some great theme ideas for inspiration.
- Rustic or Vintage
- Girly Lingerie or Glittery
- Breakfast at Tiffany’s or Tea Party
For a little entertainment and fun, try playing some bridal bingo, about bride and groom questionnaires where your guests answer questions about the couple, Pin the lips – which is similar to pin the donkey where the bride to be pins lips on a enlarged photo of her husband to be or lastly hit the pinata. Now these are only a few options, but they are our favourites.
3. Photo Booth
Why keep the photo booth fun for the wedding day? Adding a photo booth with a fun themed appropriate backdrop is an amazing way to have some extra fun at your hen party and capture all those special memories. This doesn’t have to be a professional photo booth, it could be a DIY backdrop with an instant camera and some film.
4. Engagement Ring Decor and Treats
This is one decoration that is synonymous with hen parties – diamond shaped engagement ring cut outs. There are tons of ways to use this, a few include: drink labels which are placed round your glass with your name, toothpicks that can be speared through doughnuts or unique sweet treats.
5. Drinks Bar
What would a hen party be without a drinks bar – whether it be alcoholic or non-alcoholic. Many choose to have Mimosa bars with a variety of juices and champagne. Your drinks bar doesn’t have to actually be a bar, a cute DIY option would be a trestle table with a colour appropriate table cloth, add some bunting banners and a cool sign and your bar is ready to go.
6. Personalised Gifts and Advice
Personalised gifts and advice are definitely the most meaningful things the bride takes home with her after the party. It’s a reminder and keepsake for the bride from all those who love her the most. A great idea would be a framed print of everyone’s lipstick, signature and maybe 1-2 lines of advice or a mason jar bundle with wooden spoons that have short pieces of advice on each.
This may seem like a small detail, but this fun little sign can serve as the start to the wedding day countdown or just make for a great photo prop. Don’t forget to get creative and have fun.
